The new policy marches Japan from 70 years of a clearly pacifist policy to an active and proactive defense policy.

Japanese Investments In Israel 2001 – H1 2019

Japanese Investments in Israel has grown in a most impressive pace. Number of investments in the first half of this year reached 35 cases. A record number, as it matched the number of investment the whole of 2017 – the record year. The number soared by 125% compared to last year.(35 investments in the first half compared to 28 total in 2018) Harel-hertz anticipates Japanese investments will reach the impressive number of -50! , one investment per week! The volume of investments also grew in an impressive way and equaled the volume reached the whole last year -$550M. Analyzing the division of investments since the beginning of the century, 33% of investments went to the IT sector, while 13% were directed to Life Science. But in the last 5 most active years there was a shift in Japanese interests: IT investments dropped to 19% ,Cyber climbed to 12%, Automotive to 7%, and Fintech reached 7% as well. Medical devices and Pharma combined attracted 18% of Japanese investments. Japanese Investments in Israeli High-Tech seem to be solid and well chosen , of the close to 220 investment from 2000 onwards, only 7% of the investments failed to succeed, 71% are in active stat-ups and companies. 5% were acquired by Japanese Companies , 14% were acquired by other companies ,while 3% completed an IPO successfully. It seems Japanese are good in their DD process! While some of the Japanese investors built an impressive portfolio.- more impressive is the fact that more than 90 companies took part in building Japan investment scenario in Israel. This is mainly because most of Japanese investments are of strategic nature and not financial ones. Namely , only minority of the investment originated from Venture Funds. Harel-Hertz anticipate continued growth in Japanese investments with new players mainly Institutional Investors to take part.

Facial profiling helped Donald Trump trip up Xi Jinping

Now specialists and new technologies have their gaze on Kim Jong Un TOKYO -- In diplomacy, leaders often speak more eloquently with their faces than with the words they exchange. At least they do to trained specialists in Japan, Europe and the U.S., who receive little attention but provide information that is increasingly underpinning diplomatic strategies. Consider the way facial expression experts a little more than a year ago described the characteristics of Chinese President Xi Jinping: "Extremely cautious." "Well-prepared and hence makes few mistakes." "Susceptible to surprises that go beyond his expectations."
